MFM2P - Day 4 2015

Day 4 started with our first Would You Rather? warm up.

I had them work on the big whiteboards in groups. Some couldn't remember how to find the circumference of a circle and were quite surprised when I told them to be resourceful and figure it out ("You mean we can Google it?!?"). Most groups chose the rectangle because of the shorter total distance but we also discussed whether it would be easier to run a rectangular path or a circular path. A little conversation, a little math and a little sharing - all good.

Back to linear relations. We picked up where we left off yesterday:

Students seemed comfortable with finding slope until I actually made them do these. A lot of misconceptions came out and I think most students can correctly find the slope of a line now. Some were able to move on to this, which we will continue to work on tomorrow.
